Do I need to provide carbon monoxide detector(s) for my unit?
Yes. Each unit must be equipped by the resident with a minimum of one carbon monoxide (CO) detector, as per the City of Toronto by-law 60-1998. Approved CO detectors are available at most hardware and small appliance stores. They must not be plugged into an outlet which is controlled by a switch. Locate carbon monoxide detector close to the source (appliance that is likely to emit CO).
